2020 budget: Construction sector remains economic driving force, says CIDB

KUALA LUMPUR: The allowances provided in the 2020 Budget show that the government prioritises the construction industry as one of the key drivers of the nation’s economic development, Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) chief executive Datuk Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid said. Budget 2020 saw the allocation of allowances for the development and maintenance of infrastructure and social amenities.

CITP records overseas projects worth RM4.85b as at Dec 2017

KUALA LUMPUR: The Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP) has seen Malaysian companies win RM4.85 billion worth of overseas projects from 2016 until December 2017. KUALA LUMPUR: The second phase of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (SBK MRT) line, which will commence operations on July 17, 2017, will be a significant milestone to put the country a step closer to becoming a developed nation by 2020. Affin Hwang Investment Bank Vice-President/Head of Retail Research, Datuk Dr Nazri Khan Adam Khan, said the completion of the 51-kilometre line would boost the economy as well as the property sector.
